meeting Fuuma as a child


The day he moved to Tokyo, he sees a puppy right outside a shrine, possibly looking for shelter from the rain, so he uses his jacket to make an umbrella for the puppy. But because he doesn't want the puppy to know the warmth of kindness before losing it, he can't do anything more than help keep the puppy dry. On his way home, Fuuma sees him, and tells him that it's better for the puppy to have the memory of the warmth and love to cherish than to never have experienced it. Fuuma takes Kamui by the hand, and takes him inside to get a hot bath and get cleaned up.

Not too long later, Kamui's mother takes him to meet her old friend and her children, and it turns out that Mother's old friend is Fuuma's mother. Fuuma claims him as a friend, which pleasantly surprises Kamui, and then Kotori tackles him going "I want to be your friend too!"
